To Parents and Educators

Welcome!

This page is directed toward parents and educators of the children in Vermont. When it comes to an online environment, children are the most vulnerable population.  We have included resources that provide some cyber rules for parents and teachers to discuss with children of all ages. It is critical to teach children about the hazards of the Internet and how to protect themselves. Our website contains links to games that will teach and reinforce these rules. Also, with the help of the Department of Justice, we have developed a sample lesson plan to aid teachers in teaching their student’s about cyber ethics and how to be good cyber citizens.

We would like to hear about school projects related to cyber security and safety. Parents can share their methods for keeping children safe on home computers. This is your site, please use it as a space to help us share information and ideas as well as to learn.

Don't forget to visit the Fun with Security page for games for all ages, pledges and information on contests! And make sure to have your kids meet Cody Computer on the Kids' Page!

As always, you may contact us with your questions or suggestions. Our e-mail is dii.securityfaq@state.vt.us.
