States can illustrate their dedication to internet safety by partnering with the NetSmartz Workshop. NetSmartz is an age-appropriate resource that can be adapted to fit various time constraints and needs.

  • Public-Service Announcements can be aired on local cable stations to generate awareness.

  • The Department of Education can implement a statewide roll-out of NetSmartz in schools through a train the trainer module.

  • Law-enforcement officers can be trained to give presentations in the community.

  • State web sites can link to NetSmartz websites or create a page for youth with information about internet safety from their site.

Each state can choose the level that best fits its needs.
